New Year Prayers

Lord, cause all I have believed in the Bible be activated by faith. Men recorded what you said and I can depend upon it. I ask that it be taken out of stored knowledge and empowered by the Holy Spirit. I desire that my life will please you. Please teach me what I need to know.

I know that “believe” describes an action. And faith describes what I have believed. All the action you require is believing what you had men record in the Bible. I kow the Holy Spirit is the power in me who activates the Word I have believed.

I ask that Scripture govern my behavior, and that power of the Holy Spirit will take what I believe and fulfill the promises in and through me.

I have experienced the power of believing to some degree, but now request that the Holy Spirit will supply the power to make it real in my life. Heaven’s resources are mine because I am a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He supplies all my needs. The proof that this is true is Jesus own words, “Whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name He will give it to you.”

I praise God that He watches over the Word to see that it is done. Therefore I depend on what is recorded in the Bible.

Father, I ask that all my stored knowledge of what my Lord Jesus taught be activated. I depend upon the Spirit who lives and “breathes” in me. (Using the word “breathes” makes me understand better the Presence in me)

I make my prayer in Jesus name. Amen
Clean inside

There must not be closed doors in our life if we desire access to God’s presence and resources. By “closed doors” I mean secret sins we hope no one knows. People may think we are great Christians but we don’t want stand before God and have Him expose us. How can we be cleansed from sins? Confess them to the Lord. He will not be shocked. Since He knows even what we are thinking why even try to hide anything from Him! One thing we can absolutly depend upon is that Jesus blood cleanses from all sin. When we confess our sins to Him, He promises to forgive us and remember them no more. Then we can live in the light of His presence!

When those forgiven sins come back into our mind and make us feel guilty just pray: “Father, Jesus died for that and you have forgiven me. Thank you for reminding me to praise Jesus for this great blessing. He is a wonderful Savior and I love Him with all my heart.”

It is the enemy of our soul who brings forgiven sins back to mind. He is the accuser and tries discourage us by reminding us of past forgiven sins. Say to him, “Thank you, Satan, for reminding me of that so I can praise the Lord for the blood of Jesus that cleanses me from all sins!” If you keep doing this Satan will stop harassing you. He can’t stand hearing Jesus praised.

Our Father has given us the “power of attorney” to use Jesus name to access the resources of heaven. Whatever we need is stored and waiting for our use. Ask in Jesus name for all your needs.
God is listening

1.God hears our prayers: "O thou who hearest prayer! To Thee shall all flesh come." (Psalms 65:2), and He responds to the cry of those who reverence Him. "The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry" (Psalm 34:15)

2. God knows what we need before we ask. "Remember, your Father, knows your exactly what you need even before you ask Him" (Matt. 6:8).

3. God delights to hear the prayer of the upright (The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomnation to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight" Prov. 15:8).

4. God delights to hear those who call upon Him in truth. "He is close to all who call on Him sincerely" Psa. 145:18).

5. God does not listen when you hold on to (harbor, regard) sin in your heart. "He would not have listened if I had not confessed my sins" (Psa. 66:18).

With these promises we know God listens to us when we pray. We must pay attention to the conditions. We are declare "righteous" when we accept the death of the Lord Jesus for our sins and ask Him to forgive us and come into our heart. But we can't live a perfect life so when we sin we must not make excuises or deny that we were wrong. God does not accept excuises, but He forgives when we admit our sins.
Feelings and faith

Oh! Father, there has been a lot of emphasis put of living by faith and not by our feelings. I know that is absolutely true. But you are love and when you are filling my heart I am filled with love, and your other qualities of joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness and goodness and self-control. I need your life controlling mine in every area. I yield myself to you and ask you to please fill me with the Holy Spirit. Then I can love you with all my heart and others as myself.

I confess that I have not love you or my neighbor as I should. I can't love you or people in my own strength. Forgive me for "do-it-myself" Christianity. Please fill my heart with the Holy Spirit and all the fruit of His indwelling presence. Then I will enjoy fellowship with you and bless others by my life.
A Precious Thing

It is a precious thing when my heart is fixed and trusting in God; through the mercy of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

My heart is resting, O my Savior, in Thy loving care.

My trust is ever stayed on Thee; O hear my earnest prayer that ever faithful I may be, and ever do Thy will.

O grant this in Thy mercy still, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen

This is an old poem set to music by Johann Friedrich Peter. It expresses my heart's desire to be stayed upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Make it your prayer too.

Verse 1 -19 calls for our personal praise of the Lord: Three times every morning I will bless the Lord! I will bless His holy name! And again I will bless God and not forget any of His benefits to me and my famly. Forgive me, Father, when I forget to do this. And please remind me to give thanks for all things.

This is what God does for me: He forgives all my sins. He heals all of my diseases, He redeems me from hell and saves me from the snares of life. He wraps me in goodness which is His eternal beauty. He renews my youth so I can keep on living. And in His presence my youth is renewed.

Praise God for He works all things out for our good for those who love Him. Thank you, Father. Your sheer mercy and goodness are alway with me. You are not easily angered because You are rich in love.

Grant that I will be like you about anger. You don't nag and scold or hold grudges. I pray you will fill me with the Holy Spirit so I will be like you in my relationship with family and friends.

Praise for Your love is as high as heaven is over earth and strong for us who fear You. Praise that You have separated us from our sins as far as sunrise is from sunset.

Read the whole Psalm and pray it for yourself and family.

"Lord, help me understand what you want me to do and make me wise about spiritual things" (LB). I ask that I "might walk worthy of the Lord, so that I "will always please" (LB) you and be faithful in doing your will. Grant that I will "be frutifl in every good work" so that I will honor you, Lord. This is my purpose in life.

Grant that I will be "increasing in the knowlede of God" so that I will know Father, Son and Holy Sprit. Please form my character to be more like Jesus - "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." These are not natural to me but they are to Jesus. Since He lives in my heart I pray He will control my life and His character will be demonstrated in me.

I need to be "strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power." Only then will I keep on going no matter what happens.

Grant that "the joy of the Lord" wil be my strength. Then I can "give thanks unto the Father" because He has made me a "partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light."

"Deliver 'me' from the power of darkness" for you have translated us into the kingdom of Your deae "Son in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins." Amen.

Lord God our Father, I launch out into the eternal world by prayer and my soul triumphs over all evils on the shores of earth. Time with its demands and disappointments fade when I am linked to you in prayer. I see myself as nothing and find my heart reaching after you. I long to realize your abiding presence. You are with me and will never leave me, but I am tied to what I see and hear and feel and touch. The world is so real and heaven is only seen by faith. Like the apostle request to Jesus, "Increase our faith," I also ask.

Fill me with the Holy Spirit so I will be more aware of the eternal and yet unseen realities. I know this world will one day be destroyed and the new heavens and earth created. Grant that I will cling to you and not what I see, feel and touch.

I know people are more important than things. I pray for those who know Jesus our Savior. Bless and protect them from evil. I pray especially for those in the hard places on earth where most do not know or love Him. Protect the believers from the vicious attacks of Satan through those who worship idols and man-made religions.

I rejoice for the true church, those who are saved by grace through faith in the only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Bless all your dear children. (Name family and friends)

I give myself to you afresh. Only with the Holy Spirit's power will I walk worthy of my Lord Jesus who loved me and gave Himself for me. I place my life and all my concerns in your hands. Help me pray about everything and never stop praying. It is my delight to come to you and present myself to you afresh every day.

Verse to Memorize: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (I Thessalonians 5:16,17).

This verse is like peanut butter that holds two slices of bread together. Prayer is "peanut butter" that makes rejoicing and giving thanks possible.

Father of our Lord Jesus, help me to approach you with reverence and holy boldness. You are my Father through faith in your Son Jesus Christ.

You are beyond my grasp and understanding but not beyond my love. You know that I love you above all other loves. You are adorable, good and perfect. And even more amazing is that you love me.

Keep my heart filled with love for Jesus, my Brother, Bone of my bone, Flesh of my flesh, for He is united to me. He died for me, and arose for me. He is mine and I am His. You gave Him for me and to me. I am never so much my own as when I am His, or so much lost to myself until I am lost in Him; then I find my true humanity.

But my love is often cold. Let Jesus' love warm me and lighten my burdens and be my heaven even while I'm still on earth. Please grant that I will love Him with all my heart. Let the great tide of His everlasting love cover the rocks of my sin and cares. Only then will my spirit float above the things which could wreck my life.

Make me fruitful by living in His love so my character may become like His.

O Lord Jesus, come to me.

O Holy Spirit, fill me.

O Holy Father, look on me in mercy for the sake of the Well-Beloved.

Verse to Memorize: "May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever." Amen. (Hebrews 13:20,21)
The Mind Under the blood
by Janie Buck
Topic: Prayers
Date: 02.27.2009
“Be transformed by the renewing of you mind.” (Romans 12:2)

The mind has been likened to the room of a house where visitors are entertained. All “visitors” to our mind, emotion and will come in through the mind. After they enter our mind they drop down into our spirit. If allowed to take root, they will possess our whole person.

Thoughts are bold and daring, and strong and persistent. Like armed men they force themselves into our mind. They come enticingly. They come insinuatingly, and may say, “you should go for a walk.” Then they threaten, “But it might rain, and you will catch a cold.” They come in a thousand ways! Via television, friends, family and foes. They come singly, “that’s a good idea. I will do it.” They come in droves, “I must finish this project before I go for my walk.”

Some thoughts wait at the door of our mind and push and crowd to get in while the room is full. They keep up a din and chatter and strain our nerves and chill our heart. Fear dashes into may mind, captures our imagination and holds us fast.

When a thought knocks at the door of the mind check it out before you allow it in. If admitted and entertained it will ignite passion and take over your mind. If the “thought” is looked at a while, it will possess the whole being and may lead to sin and shame.

Anxiety and nervousness appear and drive off rest and keep us sleepless all night for nothing.

Doubt, as full of death as hell itself, if let in and consulted with, will blow out every light and fill the mind with darkness.

Trouble has many faces and many hands. It is big and squatty and will take over the mind and stay all day. If not banished it will return in the morning by the time you open your eyes.

Cares, weighing a thousand pounds each, come to unload in the mind-room.

Old Self is under God’s judgment but refuses to die. It wants to stay all the time and has a sword to protect itself. Its many pitying attendants use fans and smelling salts in case it is hit, or wounded, or slighted, or knocked down. It wants the best chair in the mind and the most attention even though it is a most unwholesome visitor. Old Self has been deposed by God and is under His everlasting curse, yet it wants to lurk around all the time.

Then friends and foes and husbands and wives and children, and tomorrow, and houses and lands, and the work of whatever nature, and what was and what is and what is to be, and this and that and the other, real and imaginary, and demon impressions and suggestions, and thoughts of friends and foes come to you as swift messengers in dreams and while awake. All these things in different shapes and sizes and sounds will harass and possess and occupy and claim all the attention of the mind, if allowed.

Thousands are in the grave and the madhouse, and other thousands are in physical torments and sickness because their mind is thus occupied.

Many honest souls crave deliverance. How is it found? These visitors cannot be humanly driven off. They are to many and to strong and to smart for us. They have no shame nor feeling. Kick them out and they are right back. Throw them our and they get right up and come in again. Lock the door and every one has a master key.

But thank God there is a way of deliverance from these tormenting thoughts, spirits, things. And that way is through the precious blood of the Lamb of God once slain.

When my eyes opened from sleep thoughts of past, present and future trouble are on hand to torment me. They make an early start. They come trooping in. I feel helpless. I knew not what to do with them. Then the Lord showed me the door in Egypt with the blood sprinkled over and around it. (Exodus 12:21-24). No evil, tormenting spirit could come in. I was just simply to be willing to commit my mind unto Him in helplessness and then to claim and believe and see the blood of Christ over and around my mind just like that door in Egypt. It was a new and blessed thought. I had not thought on the blood of Jesus over my mind before.

When the hordes of thoughts came again, I said, “The blood is over the door. The world is dead to me and I am dead to the world. You cannot enter under the blood.”

They backed off!

Again and again they came, but I simply pointed to the blood over the door of my mind. I thought on the blood whenever they came, and soon their power was gone and they ceased their visitations. My torments ceased. My mind had rest as I committed all to God and thought on the blood.

The spotless Lamb of God has shed His most precious blood for you, to cleanse and cover and free and keep you, not only from sin and sickness, but your mind from torments and distractions as well.

The blood is our one safety. Not a death-dealing, troubling, tormenting, fearful visitor could enter the room that night in Egypt where the blood was on the door.

And dear, tormented soul, a thousand-fold more real and powerful than the blood of that little lamb is the precious blood of the Lamb of God. See by faith His blood sprinkled over your mind that is the door to you being. When things or thoughts knock for attention, throw up your hands and point them to the blood on the door. By faith put the death of Jesus Christ between them and you. Also consent to your death in Jesus’ precious blood, and take your place definitely and continually under its protection.

Say to thoughts and all hindering visitors to the mind’s distraction from God’s peace, “I am dead to you and you are dead to me.” Say it in faith; say it over and over; say it persistently, believe that the blood is on the door of your mind and that it is protecting you as God said it would

“Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3)

I believe in the Name of the Son of God. Therefore I am in Him and He is in me. In Him all fullness dwells. There is no difficulty inward or outward that He is not ready to meet in me today. I believe I have not received the spirit of fear but of love and of power and a sound mind. The Lord is my Keeper. Amen.

The Lord blesses me as I pray this old prayer by a Bishop whose name I don't know. But his prayer lives on, and our Father still hears it when we use it as a declaration of our worship and trust in His keeping power.

We don't have to limit our prayers to a certain time or place. He hears us wherever we are. Jesus said, "I will never leave you or forsake you."

Rest in His love for He care. Trust Him completely with every detail of life. Often we don't have time to listen to our children but Jesus is never to busy to listen and help us. Think of Him as your Father - your Daddy who loves you forever.

"I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2). Peter was praying for his friend Gaius whose spiritual state was excellent, so he prayed physical vigor.

We all need excellent spiritual health and physical vigor. We receive these blessings from our Father in heaven through studying of the Bible and prayer. He hears us on the basis of our trust in the death of His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Bible is God's Word to us and is as necessary for life and health as food is for our body. We "eat" the Word by reading and meditating on what we read. Meditating is not some mysterious thing hermits do. It is simply thinking about something. It is different from worry that centers on our problems.

Meditating centers on the words in the Bible and seeing how they apply to our life. Then our daily life will be a walk in the truth that insultes us from the "garbage" that bombards us from the media.

Remember our reactions to people and situations is as important as our actions. The Holy Spirit will help you if you ask Him.

Boldness & Confidence

Date: 06.02.2009
Boldness and confident access to the Father is received through faith in the Lord Jesus. He died for all our sins, and "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgve us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousnes" (I John 1:9). This must be done every day as soon as we are aware that we "blew it". Then we are ready to pray.

Father will not be surprised when we admit our sins or say,"you knew better than that!" He will forgive us and cleanse our heart and soul.

"If we say that we have not sinned we make Him a liar and His word is not in us" (I John 1:10). So don't blame anyone. Sure there are people who irritate and aggravate us, but our reaction and bad temper is our fault. Reaction sins are as bad as those that originate in our own heart. We must put away the blame game and confess our own sins, not other peoples' sins. Then ask the Lord to bless those who aggravate and irritate you. They need the Lord as much as you and I do.

After you have confessed, pray again asking Father to fill you with the Holy Spirit. We don't have the ability to "be good" on our own. That is why the Holy Spirit was sent - He is the Helper who helps us live life to please our Father. Then remember the command, "Walk in the Spirit." That is depend upon Him to help you in everything that concerns your life and family and friends.

Father, according to Your riches in glory, please grant me strength with the power of the Holy Spirit in my inner being so that Christ will dwell in my heart through faith.

I ask that I will be rooted and grounded in love and have strength to comprehend with all Christians what is the breath and length and height and depth of Your love, and experience the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge.

I ask You to fill me with all the fullness of God.

Father, You are able to do far more abundantly than all I ask or think by You power that works within me.

To You be glory in my life since I am a part of the church which is the body of Christ. I need You every minute of the day. And by faith I know You are with me and will never leave me.

My soul waits in silence for God only. From Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my stronghold. I shall not be greatly shaken.

I am as related to You, Lord Jesus, as a branch on a vine. Or to put it in terms I'm more familiar with, as a limb on a tree. I may feel like a twig on a branch, but I am in You. And You will never leave me or forsake me. Praise!

Lord Jesus my Savior, I praise our Father that you have forgiven my sins, and that You live right here on earth in my heart. I ask that, by Your grace, I will walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of my flesh.

You commanded us to "abide in Me", so my prayer is in Your will and purpose for all those who know You as Savior and Lord. You always answer our prayers in the way that is best for us.

You are Lord. I submit myself to You and ask You to fill my life with the Holy Spirit.

The Lord said, "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." (Jeremiah 33:3)

So, when you don't know what to do ask Him and He will gladly tell you. He doesn't speak to us from the burning bush like He did to Moses. He speaks to us from the page up - that is the Bible.

It is amazing that when we read the Bible words, commands, and knowledge is given us on what we are praying for. And we learn how to live pleasing to the Lord.

So, "Praying always in the Spirit." Seeking the Lord's council and grace and submitting our self to His leading, learned through the Word, the Bible.

How often do we pray? "Pray without ceasing" is the command. So any time you are not concentrating on a task, turn you thoughts into prayers. Even when you are concentrating put up a "flash" prayer for guidance. It is amazing how the Lord will direct us when we ask His help.

Remember God answers prayer. One great Christian I read about prayed for seven of his friends to become Christians. All but two were saved during his life time and one at his funeral. The last one also came to the Lord years after his death. SO, don't give up praying your friends and family.

Strength for the Day

Father, I ask that I will be as strong in my public life as I am in my personal worship of You and the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Please don't let me forget as I go through busy days that demand my full attention. Guide me so I will know what to do.

Before the crucifixion, Jesus told the disciples He was going away but not to worry or be sad because He would send the Holy Spirit to help them. In fact He called the Spirit the Helper. Also He said, "I will not leave you as orphans. I will come back to you".

When we open our heart and invite Jesus to come in and forgive our sins He does. And the Holy Spirit also comes into our very being. "They who are joined to the Lord are one spirit with Him."

When we sin He does not leave us. We may "feel" deserted and not know His presence until we confess our sins and turn back to the Lord, receive His pardon by faith and ask Him to again fill us with the Spirit.

We are as related to Jesus as a branch on a vine, or as a limb on a tree (to put it in terms I'm more familiar with).

Jesus is living His life over in me and all true believers. This was amazing when I first heard it taught. I asked, "Do you really mean Jesus lives in me?" The preacher I was talking to said, "Yes, and He lives in all who have believed who He is and what He did for us."

We are commanded to "Walk in the Spirit." That is live life in the fact that God come into our body to help us be the person we can only wish we were. Our part is to depend upon His indwelling Presence. He will never leave you or forsake you.

"I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; as for me, I shall be glad in the Lord. Let sinners be consumed from the earth and the wicked be no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord" (Psalm 104:33-35).

These verses outline our part and God's part. We sing praise and meditate (think about) things that will please Him. If we do joy and gladness will fill our heart. Then we pray that sinners will be "consumed from the earth and the wicked be no more" which echoes part of the Lord's prayer -"deliver us from evil".

Then we "bless the Lord!"

We are always asking Him to bless us, but here we are told to bless the Lord! How do we do that? We praise Him and give thanks. In fact we are instructed to "give thanks in all things" and this is reasonable for "all things work together for good to those who love the Lord." Therefore, we can "bless the Lord, O my soul and praise the Lord" with a grateful heart.

"When you pray, go into your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you" (Matt. 6:6). Jesus meant don't try to impress people with your prayers. If we do them our Father will not listen! We need to shut the world out, withdraw from our "to do" list, shut ourself in alone with God, and pray in secret.

Our chief objective is to realize the presence of our Father in heaven. Remember that you are alone with All Mighty God!

The beginning of prayer is taking time to realize His presence with me. Then we pray to our Father who sees what is done in secret.

It is a wonderful privilege to pray and know God listen to us. The only prayer that counts are those our Father hears - not the ones prayed to impress people. We can have full assurance that He knows how much we need His help and guidance, and He will listen to us.

Believe the great promise: "Your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly." Our Father will make sure that our prayer in not just blowing in the wind. All through the day He will be working out the answer.

Since Jesus has given us the promise of His presence and shows us the way to the inner room of prayer, He will surely be with us and teach us to pray. It is through Him that we have access to the Father. We can be childlike in our trust and fellowship wtih Christ. Confess each sin, and bring every need to Him. Offer your prayer to the Father in the name of Christ.

Prayer is fellowship with Jesus cannot by be in vain.

I am part of the fellowship of the un-ashamed. I have Holy Spirit Power. The dye has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision as been made. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I will not look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I am finished and done with low living, sight-walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed vision, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotion, or popularity. I do not have to be right, first, tops, recognized, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor by power.

My face is set, my gate is fast, my goal is Heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not give up, shut up, or let go. I will go on until He comes, and work until He stops me.

I AM A DISCIPLE OF JESUS.

AMEN
