Uncertain times

My adequacy is from God! He is sufficient. Father, fill me with the Holy Spirit. I yield myself to you afresh this morning. Because You supply all my needs, I transfer myself into your loving care, and by the power of the Holy Spirit I will live pleasing to you because you richly supply me with all things to enjoy. Grant that I will do good and be rich in good works and be generous and ready to share so I will store up for myself the treasure of a good foundation for the future. And grant that I will take hold of that which is life indeed. (1 Tim. 6:17-19)

I will not let my heart be troubled! I will trust in God because every good thing comes from Him. He will deliver me from evil. I fix my eyes on Jesus for heaven is my home and He has stored up all I have invested in His kingdom there. And nothing can destroy it or me.

The Lord has commanded me not to love wealth or be devoted to riches because everything belongs to Him. I am only a temporary custodian to manage what He has given me. This adjusts my attitude to the depression/recession our country is in now.

Forgive me for being anxious and cleanse me in the Precious Blood. Redirect my thoughts to wholly trust and depend upon you, my Father. I praise that You own everything and You are in charge.

"I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his descendants begging bread" (Psalm 37:25-26). So I find peace and security in the One God and only Savior Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation! For by Him all things were created, both in the heavans and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorties - all things have been made by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Jesus is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the first born from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father's good pleasure for all fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. (Col. 1:15-20)

And blessed fact that all true believers are in Him. And He will never leave us or forsake us, for He said, "I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matt. 28:20).

Celebrate who Christ Jesus is and the blessed prominse that He is with us and will never leave us!

When Jesus died on the cross He didn't just stop breathing. He went into the terrible night of rejection and eternal seperation that all unrepent people enter at death. It is a homelessness so complete that there is no place you can call home. It is hell.

Even while Jesus lived on earth He said foxes have holes and birds have nest, but He had no place to lay His head. He and the disciples slept in the olive garden. Think on that!

A fuller impact of this hit me today and I give thanks and praise that He did it for me, but not just for me. He suffer and died for the sins of the whole world!

God requires a response from us. We must believe. How can a person believe who has never heard that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes on Him will have eternal life." And how will they believe unless someone tells them. That's where you and I come into focus. "Faith comes by hearing" and we are His witnesses. Let us "gossip the gospel" and tell everyone "Christ died for our sins" and each person must believe and receive Him into their heart as Savior and Lord.

"How great the Father's love for us that He would give His only Son to make a wrech His treasure." My heart Christ's home on earth.
