What Is Faith?
Faith is a noun that describes what we believe. Remember that nouns describe persons, places and things. The word faith describes what we have done when we have believed. Don't try to have faith. You have faith when you believe what God has said in the Bible. Basically, it is believing the truth based on the authority of God's Word. Faith has complete confidence in God's character, what He says, and confidence in the character and teachings of Christ Jesus. We surrender our wills to God's guidance and depend on Jesus' death and resurrection for salvation. This gives us a firm belief in God's Word, and entire reliance on Christ for forgiveness of sin. Faith gives incredible joy! We know we have peace with God and that He answers our prayers based on the fact that He is our Father. Choose to believe and you will have moved from doubt to faith.
Life Takes on New Meaning
Life becomes an adventure when we understand what it means to believe God. Dare to give yourself completely to Him. Choose to believe everything He has said. Review all you have ever learned about the Bible. Ask yourself, "Have I believe it, or is it stored knowledge that has no power to help me?" Then move all you know into believing.
Plan of Action
Not sure your sins are forgiven? Pray, "God, please forgive me. I ask you, Lord Jesus Christ, to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen" Thank Him often that He answered your prayer.
Memory Verse: "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:29) Prayer: God, please forgive me. I ask you, Lord Jesus Christ, to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen. |
